Who we are

Westmorland Web Ltd is the controller of personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 14502676 and operate from Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria.

Information we collect

When you contact us or become a client, we may collect:

• your name, business name and contact details;
• your website address and the information included in your enquiry;
• correspondence, project requirements and service records;
• billing, payment and accounting information; and
• basic technical information produced when you visit the website, such as IP address, browser type and server logs.

The website review form opens your own email application. Your enquiry is sent only when you choose to send that email.

How and why we use it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, provide and support website services, administer accounts, keep our systems secure and meet legal obligations.

Our lawful bases will usually be taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and improving the business. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you may withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

We share information only where needed with trusted providers such as website hosting, email, domain, payment and accounting services, and with professional advisers or public authorities where required. These organisations may process information on our behalf or under their own legal responsibilities.

Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we use the protections required by UK data-protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep general enquiries for up to 24 months where they may lead to future work. Client, contractual and financial records are kept for the working relationship and afterwards for as long as reasonably needed, including any legal or tax-retention period—typically up to six years. We may delete information sooner when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information; restrict or object to its use; receive certain information in a portable format; and withdraw consent.
